The following quote from An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore pretty much sums up my relationship with the environment, only for me instead of Washington and Carthage, it was Starkville, CO and Los Angeles, CA . "So many years moving back and forth between Washington and Carthage had its disadvantages, to be sure. But I believe it gave me a perspective on nature-the environment, if you will-that I’m glad I had a chance to learn. Had I grown up entirely on the farm, I think I might have taken nature much more for granted. But being deprived of it at the end of each summer allowed me to know it by its absence and to better appreciate its incomparable grace."
